Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering

Which is better, mechanical or electrical engineering?

I graduated as a Mechanical Engineer back in 2013, and I was going through the same dilemma back in 2009. My father is an Electrical Engineer, so I have always had an interest in EE, mainly because I would sit with him and sort out small problem of wiring and stuff around the house, I saw him work although I couldn't make head or tail of his complex circuits, it seemed very interesting and I wanted to learn that. But during the same time as I went on with my higher studies I became very interested in parts that move. EE and Mechanical have a significant overlap went it comes to motors and gear-boxes anyways.

When the time of applying in unversities came, I knew that I didn't want CS (although I wish I had, better pay and stuff!), but I was confused with what I wanted, EE or ME, so I applied in EE in two universities, and ME in other two and left it to chance. I got in ME and over years I have realized that it was the right one for me, or may be I simply made peace with myself thinking that I would not have enjoyed EE that much.

My point is, Engineering is problem solving, there are problems in every field so if you like to solve problem, you would never be bored in Engineering. Creativity translates to innovation in engineering, which again says that if you are creative, you will have ample opportunities for creativity in every field, none of these fields is saturated especially when it comes to technology.
